This week we were delighted to donate £550 to the local branch of the Royal British Legion. The Legion worked throughout the whole of the beer festival selling our beer festival glasses. In recognition of this and for the fine work they do with veterans within our community we awarded all profits raised from glass selling to the local branch.
We were delighted to hand over a cheque for £750 this week to the Oncology Ward at Lister Hospital this week. This money was raised directly from the raffle of the giant cuddly toy. A big thank you to everyone who purchased a raffle ticket this year. Even if you didn’t win the raffle, your money has made a big impact.
For the last day we have added some more beer and cider to supplement those from the original list. As always we open at 12 Noon.
We had a great Friday night with a full house and great music from Outliars and The 2 Tones and the Balstock bands. The full range of beers are still on as well as foreign beers. The last 30 litres of Strawberry Lambic went on last night so if you want to sample that I suggest you get here early. We open at 12 noon!
Lots of things for the children to do today. Face painting, bouncy castle, the steam train plus lots more so get here early with the family and enjoy the day. Music starts at 1pm and will go right through to 11pm. We have some great bands appearing for the first time (check out Barricade, 4th Labyrinth, Blonde Highlights) as well as some repeat offenders, closing with the fantastic 5th Wheel.
Balstock are running the acoustic tent as a fundraiser. Go along and support them and chuck some money in buckets when they go round. This will go towards putting on the biggest and best free music festivals in Hertfordshire !
Buy yourself a festival glass whilst you are here. The glasses are being sold by volunteers from our local British Legion and this years beer festival is in part supporting the great work that they do!
Last but not least a big thank you to all the volunteers that help behind the bar, putting up and taking down the festival. We couldn’t put on this event without them.

We have 17 confirmed foreign beers at the this years beer festival. The most we have ever had.
Beer and Cider lists are now avaliable on the beer and cider pages. We are pleased to announce that we have over 30 ciders this year all locally sourced.
We have 66 real ales and all will be available from the start of the beer festival. Pricing for beers at the festival is based not on ABV but on the price at which we are able to source it from the brewery.

The official Baldock Beer Festival beer, Baldock Kitchener has been brewed and you will find it at the festival and in good pubs around the area. With the help of Buntingford Brewery we set about brewing a beer with malts and hops from Belgium, France, England and Germany.
Shunning the national press and Hello Magazine exclusives, we have released our story of the brew process to the Baldock Mail. Pick yourself up a copy and read all about it there!
We had our second planning meeting last night. This years theme will be World War 1 in recognition of the 100 year anniversary and we are currently talking to the British Legion about how we do this sensibly.
As usual we are currently working hard to sort out and plan all the beer, entertainment and music. We expect to bring you a wide range of beers from different breweries plus some of the old favourites. The bands are currently being lined up and we expect to have music on all three days.

Thanks for all the requests for donations. We have had a meeting and are in the process of handing out the donations so watch this space. As soon as we have completed this we will let you know which good causes we have chosen to sponsor. The 2014 Beer Festival is as always set for the first bank holiday weekend in May (Friday May 2nd – Sunday May 4th). We are hoping to make it better and bigger and look forward to seeing there! As always we need volunteers to help with the set up and also the clear up so if you are interested then get in touch.
