The real ale list for this year’s beer festival is now on the website. Note that it is still provisional and until the beers are racked we could make the odd change. Less than a week to the start of the festival (gates open Friday 4th at 5 pm. Foreign beer lists and real ciders are still being confirmed and will be released as and when we have them.
We have now finalised the real ale list for 2016 (subject to availability from the breweries). So there you have it. See you in a week and a bit!
Beer and Cider lists are now avaliable on the beer and cider pages. We are pleased to announce that we have over 30 ciders this year all locally sourced.
We have 66 real ales and all will be available from the start of the beer festival. Pricing for beers at the festival is based not on ABV but on the price at which we are able to source it from the brewery.
See you on Friday.
The official Baldock Beer Festival beer, Baldock Kitchener has been brewed and you will find it at the festival and in good pubs around the area. With the help of Buntingford Brewery we set about brewing a beer with malts and hops from Belgium, France, England and Germany.
Shunning the national press and Hello Magazine exclusives, we have released our story of the brew process to the Baldock Mail. Pick yourself up a copy and read all about it there!
We’ve managed to order in 16 more barrels of ale for today to replenish stocks so we still have 30 ish to choose from. A big thank you to Buntingford brewery for helping us with the restock.
There’s plenty of ciders still available and Apple Cottage have re-supplied and we still have some continental beers in the house. The weather looks good so see you at 12! Remember we close early tonight at 8pm.
We’ve got the beer list updated. Remember we will have beer lists available when you get here so no need to print anything out. We will be selling beer glasses as per usual and for the first time we will be selling a limited number of festival t shirts. Weather is going to be mostly sunny so bring your sun screen for the day and a coat for the evening. We will add the ciders on as soon as there up!
Well the day has arrived. We are open today from 5pm! Beers are all ready. We have a few changes to the beer list (I’ll change the beer list on here asap but nothing major). Remember we will have beer list printed and ready for you so save your paper and pick take one of ours. Ciders are arriving throughout the day and continental beers are all nicely chilled.
Music tonight is tribute themed (Freddie Mecury / Thin Lizzy and ACDC) that kicks off around 6pm.
The Comet published an article about us and just want to clear up a few errors in that. We are not Balstock and we are not raising money exclusively for Mencap. Balstock will be here supporting us by putting on the acoustic stage (and raising money for themselves). Also Mr Speaker will be on the acoustic stage Saturday and they will be raising money for Mencap. Both great causes so dig deep into those pockets and help them raise as much as they can as the acoustic stage is being put on for free! For your enjoyment.
Enough said see you at 5! (bring a coat later – chilly……. Or get your beer coat on!)
Good new! Both foreign beer and real ale lists are now on the website. They’re only basic lists at the moment and we’ll add tasting notes as soon as we erm…. taste them! There is likely to be some changes due to availability at breweries but we will definitely have over 60 different ales this year.
As usual we will be selling collectable glasses (both pint and halves) and for the first time this year we are producing a limited number of festival t shirts so get them while you can.
See you soon!
We had a meeting of the beer festival committee on Monday and things are progressing nicely. Dave has been working hard with a group of us to choose the foreign beers for this years festival and they have all been ordered. We will get a list up on this site as soon as we can.
Food stalls have been booked and will include the usual fare (Indian, West Indian, BBQ) plus ice cream and sweets on Saturday and Sunday for the kids.
Thanks to all bands that have asked if they can play at the festival. We are finalising the bands and will be contacting you as and when we can but unfortunately we will not be able to slot everybody in this year.
Ciders are currently being selected by Paul and Gayle and will be locally produced. We will publish lists as soon as we get them.
We will be selecting ales later in the month so watch this space.
That just about sums up where we are at the moment. See you all soon.
